Easter Hunt

Despite the rain we decided to still have an easter hunt with our Room 6 buddies.  We had to find the 6 coloured clues and help our little buddies to colour in the easter picture.  Once we had successfully found the right clues and coloured we got to find our easter baskets!

Community Cloth

Today the Year 4 classes finished their piece for the school community cloth.  First we had to draw our Kiwiana/NZ symbol with pencil and paper.  Once we had practised a number of times and perfected our drawing we were allowed to engrave the drawing onto a meat tray.  This was our print tile.  We then had to choose the colour for our print and how we were going to set it out and print it onto our square.  Once these were dry we chose a contrasting colour and painted around the outside of the cloth.  Vivid was added as the finishing touch to frame the print.  We are really looking forward to seeing the cloth all sewn together and displayed in the school.
Here are a few of our finished prints.

Happy birthday Phoebe

It was Phoebe's turn to wear the Room 20 birthday hat.  We all enjoyed hearing about your birthday and the amazing cupcake party on the weekend.  Happy 8th birthday Phoebe!

More Easter Crafts

Today Eva and Millie lead a fantastic Easter craft using the many acorns they have collected.  They got the class to use the hot glue guns to stick acorn ears on and then vivids to draw the bunny face.  Awesome work girls and we look forward to making some more easter treats tomorrow.

Lunar Eclipse Tuesday night

Wouldn't it be amazing to see a Lunar Eclipse! Well tomorrow night you can.  A child-friendly lunar eclipse - where the Earth passes between the moon and the sun, casting a red glow on the moon - will be seen before bedtime on Tuesday evening.  The best viewing will be at 7:08 Tuesday night.

Easter Crafts and treats

Today we had the amazing Lauren and Onnah make some easter bunnies and chocolate nests with the class.  We are so lucky to have been given the opportunity to make these and take them home to share with our family.  Thanks heaps Onnah and Lauren - we had a fantastic afternoon!

Our turn to host assembly

Last Thursday Room 20 hosted the Year 4 assembly.  Eva and Phoebe did a fantastic job being our MC's.  We presented our Autumn poems and pastel bird pictures.  Congratulations to the children who received certificates this week.
