Buddy Time

Today our buddies from Room 6 came to make Salsa/Guacamole dip[ with us.  We used the fresh tomatoes the eco-warriors had picked from the school garden, some avocados, garlic, red onion and sweet chilli sauce.  We all had turns at chopping, squeezing and mixing the ingredients to make our tasty dip.  We then ate the yummy salsa dip with corn chips and crackers.  We will post some photos tomorrow!

Caterpillars on the move!

Today there was great excitement when we arrived at school!  On the back wall we noticed a green blob hanging off the vibrant red paper!  One of our caterpillars had turned into a chrysalis and conveniently made it's new home on the wall until it turns into a monarch!  We are wondering how long it will be until the chrysalis turns black and changes into a butterfly?  How do the beautiful gold spots appear?  What was the caterpillar thinking when he decided this would be a place to make the chrysalis?  We will watch with great excitement for the next change in the life cycle!

Room 20's First Day together!

Welcome to the Room 20 blog.  WOW today flew by!  We began the day with a Powhiri to welcome the new children and families to St Albans School.  We are lucky to have 4 new people who were welcomed today - Jay, Tom, Amelia and Jack.
We sorted out our stationery and agreed that it is exciting to keep our things in our pencil cases and in our desks - Mrs Allen will do some spot checks to see if we are managing our gear and keeping the desk tidy!!
We had a fantastic first day and are rearing to go for the rest of the week!
